Our Regular Weekly Walks
We host two consistent, enjoyable walks designed for you to get active and connect with others.
1. Monday Morning Wellbeing Walk
This is our dedicated Wellbeing Walkers club walk, perfect for those looking for a good stride and a refreshing morning out.
- When: Every Monday (excluding Bank Holidays)
- Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM (approximately 90 minutes)
- Distance: Approximately 4 miles
- Meeting Point: The Embankment, Wellingborough
- Look for our friendly Wellbeing Walkers leader near the car park entrance.
2. Saturday Morning Parkwalk (at Parkrun)
Join us for a more informal, community-led walk at the weekly Irchester Country Parkrun event. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the park at your own pace!
- When: Every Saturday
- Time: 9:00 AM (Parkrun starts promptly)
- Location: Irchester Country Park, Wellingborough
- What is Parkwalk? Parkwalk is an initiative within Parkrun, encouraging people to walk the 5k (approx. 3.1 miles) course. It’s a non-competitive, friendly atmosphere where you can walk at your own pace, with tail walkers ensuring no one is left behind. You don’t need to be fast, just keen to participate! What to Expect:
- Monday Walk: A moderately paced 4-mile walk, perfect for improving your fitness, enjoying conversation, and taking in the local scenery around Wellingborough. Our certified Walk Leader, James, ensures a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
- Saturday Parkwalk: A relaxed 5k walk within the Parkrun event. This is a great way to be part of a larger community event, enjoy a beautiful park, and track your progress if you register with Parkrun (though registration isn’t essential just to walk).
What to Bring for Either Walk:
- Comfortable walking shoes: Essential for both walks.
- Weather-appropriate clothing: Dress in layers and be prepared for changeable English weather.
- Water bottle: Stay hydrated!
- Any personal medications: If required.
- A smile and enthusiasm!
Important Notes:
- Bank Holidays: Please note that our regular Monday walk does not take place on Bank Holidays. We’ll announce any special alternative walks for these dates if they are planned. Saturday Parkrun events typically do run on Bank Holidays, but it’s always best to check their official website.
- All Abilities Welcome: Both our Monday walk and the Saturday Parkwalk are inclusive. While our Monday walk is 4 miles, we walk at a sociable pace. The Saturday Parkwalk is specifically designed to accommodate walkers of all speeds.
